National Parks: Meadows
in the Sky Parkway
Winding 26 km uphill, the
Meadows in the Sky Parkway takes
you through forests of Cedar and
Hemlock, Spruce and Fir, to the
renowned subalpine wildflower
meadows of Mt. Revelstoke
National Park.
"Inspiration Woods Trail"
offers a quick introduction to
the Cedar & Hemlock rainforest.
"Monashee Picnic Area", "Revelstoke
Viewpoint"
and
"Snowforest
Viewpoint"
offer spectacular views of the
Columbia River Valley,
Revelstoke, and the Selkirk &
Monashee Mountains.
At the summit, over 1600 meters
above the valley floor, the park
offers rare mountain-top hiking,
strolling, picnicking and
photography opportunities.
"The
Summit Trail"
connects the
main parking area at Balsam Lake
to the summit area, 1 km away.
Visit the historic Firetower and
enjoy the panoramic high
mountain views.
Eva Lake, Jade Lake, and Millar
Lake trails lead you into the
backcountry, and will take you
through expansive wildflower
meadows and eventually to these
unique alpine lakes.
